Mixology is a portrait series highlighting the beauty of diversity and of being mixed-race. While Mixology is the study of cocktails, the idea of incorporating different ingredients to create a unique outcome is, in this case, applied to people. As a mixed-race person, I appreciate conversations that are a stepping stone to moving past assumptions and open opportunities to connect and learn. Being mixed can be a source of confusion, but hopefully, increasingly a source of pride. There is beauty in our differences; therefore, this project is dedicated to those who have embraced or are learning to embrace their identity.

This work explores the creative elements behind how men’s luxury clothing brands achieve such a formula for success. The title is influenced by consumers' willingness to spend big money on big ideas. The photographs represent the literal “image” that consumers buy into. Through a rich colour palette, diverse models, picturesque settings, and distinct posing, I hope to show how individual artistic choices unite to compose a cohesive look and strong identity.

Who doesn’t like denim? Denim is something I see as classic and versatile, fitting everyone's style. Being a denim enthusiast, I want to portray how one fabric can be curated to suit individuals so differently. My models are unique and have distinct styles, but having them all wear denim creates a cohesive series that allows their individuality to shine through.
